WHO ARE WE
DSS Derby was founded by Katja,
a mother of 4, who would like to build a Community of German speaking families, tutors and helpers for our children to enjoy being part of.
We are not a school. I see us more as a Verein and Community with the purpose of enriching our childrens lifes and building on their existing German knowledge and heritage.
LEARNING
We strive to create a fun and stimulating environment where children learn and improve their German by using it actively and purposefully in listening, speaking, reading and writing. We try our best to accomodate everyone but we are not a school and haven't got the same resources available to us.
If we have spaces available i will suggest for you to come for a taster so you can see what we have to offer as a Community.
GROUPS
Each group is run by a tutor (and a helper if there are more than 5 students).
All tutors/helpers are native speakers buyt not necessarily fullly trained teachers. Fees are payable for each term at the beginning of term and work out as £15 per per child per session.
COMMUNITY
We want to create a German Community for the Derby/Nottingham area where we meet, undertake projects, play games, learn and celebrate German traditions together.
